It's time for our monthly nidra for sleep together!
As the weather is getting colder and the days shorter, we are going to focus on synchronising with the rhythm of nature and shift harmoniously into winter. Winter is the season of deep reflection and rest. If you look around you, you will notice that nature is getting ready for her big slumber. As usual, we tend to be at odds with what is happening in the natural world and instead of slowing down and rest, we are preparing for one of the busiest time of the year... Christmas. Christmas doesn't need to be a stressful experience, however, every year around this time I start getting anxious. Organising travel, presents, meeting people, planning dinners, going out etc. when all I really want is to stay at home in peace and enjoy the simples things. Although over the past few years my Christmas has been a relatively quiet affair, I somehow still feel bothered by everything that's going on around me and ask myself if I should make more of an effort, if I should feel more festive...Â
All the fuss is just in my head, no one is forcing me to do anything, no one is expecting anything from me. I am my worst enemy ;)
Now I know that when I start fretting, I just need to pause, get out of my head and draw from the wisdom of my body. Meditation and yoga nidra are the best ways I know to access this wisdom and find my natural rhythm once again.
Let's find rest and harmony together.
